The National Coordinator of the Junior Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists (JETS) Program, Mrs Mabe Christiana, has paid a sensitization visit to the Kano State Ministry of Education as part of ongoing engagements with key stakeholders of the Ministry and its Agencies across the state.
Mabe Christiana said the purpose of the visit was to formally notify the Ministry about the forthcoming Stakeholders Engagement Meeting scheduled to take place in Kano in January 2026, and to further strengthen collaboration towards advancing science and technology education among young learners.
The National Coordinator then, highlighted the critical role of the JETS program in nurturing creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students. She emphasized that JETS activities contribute significantly to national development by preparing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. She therefore called for sustained partnership with the ministry and state agencies to ensure successful implementation of upcoming activities.
Responding, the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Gwani Dr Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, represented by the Director Educational Support Services, Hajiya Halima Sadiya Tukur, reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the present administration to prioritizing education, with particular attention to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. She assured the National Coordinator that Kano State will continue to participate fully in all JETS programs and competitions.
She also urged all education parastatals under the ministry to accord maximum cooperation to the JETS program in line with the collaborative efforts of the Federal Ministry of Education.
As part of the engagements, the National Coordinator also visited the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to brief the management and seek their support ahead of the January 2026 stakeholders meeting.
