The Kano State Shari’a Commission has concluded a three-day training workshop organized for Imams from all 44 local government areas of the state, aimed at improving their knowledge, understanding, and competence in religious matters, peacebuilding, and resolving community issues.
The training, which attracted hundreds of Imams, focused on the leadership role they play in promoting justice, preventing conflicts, and educating the public on the importance of peace and obedience to the law.
While speaking at the closing session, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Auwal, emphasized the position of Imams as pillars of peace and moral guidance within the society.
Sheikh Tijjani further stated that the government will continue to support such initiatives, as they serve as the foundation for sustainable peace in the state.
Also speaking, the Second Commissioner, Sheikh Ali Danabba, commended the participation of the Imams and stressed that they play a crucial role in shaping the character of young people and resolving family disputes.
Sheikh Danabba assured that his ministry will continue to collaborate with the Imams in organizing additional training at various levels.
The Shari’a Commission affirmed that this program is part of the government’s broader strategy to support religious leaders so they can contribute effectively to strengthening peace and stability across Kano State.
