Alhaji Munzali Abubakar Dambazau has been officially confirmed as the new Chairman of the Association of APC Local Government Chairmen (ALGON) across the 44 local government areas of Kano State, in a move seen as strengthening leadership and unity within the party at the grassroots level.
The Chairman of the APC in Nassarawa Local Government, Alhaji Yahuza Adamu Yankaba, confirmed this during a well-attended gathering held to formalize the appointment. The event was attended by key party stakeholders, local government chairmen, and supporters from across the state.
Speaking at the event, Yankaba stated that Dambazau’s emergence was based on his experience, dedication, and significant contributions to the growth of the APC in Kano and beyond. He expressed confidence in Dambazau’s ability to carry out his responsibilities with fairness and competence.
“We made this choice to ensure strong leadership that will unite all local government chairmen, while promoting transparency and proper coordination in party affairs,” Yankaba said.
In his acceptance speech, Dambazau expressed appreciation to party leaders for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to work tirelessly to justify the trust placed in him.
He emphasized his commitment to strengthening unity among the 44 local government chairmen and ensuring effective coordination that will further enhance the party’s structure at both state and grassroots levels.
“I will work with everyone without bias to ensure the growth of our party and strengthen its foundation across all local governments in Kano State,” he added.
Participants at the event expressed optimism about the appointment, noting that Dambazau’s leadership is expected to bring fresh ideas and renewed momentum to the APC in Kano.
The development is widely seen as a strategic step toward consolidating the party’s structure and influence in the state, especially as it positions itself for future political engagements.
