The Senator representing Kano Central, Alhaji Rufa’i Sani Hanga, has announced his defection from the NDC Kwankwasiyya movement to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hanga disclosed this in an interview with journalist Nasir Salisu Zango on Thursday, which was published on the Freedom Radio platform. He said the decision was made voluntarily in order to preserve his dignity and political relevance.
According to him, the move followed his failure to secure the Kano Central senatorial ticket, as well as what he described as the implementation of major decisions within the party without his consultation or approval.
However, Hanga did not provide details about the role he intends to play in the APC, stressing only that his decision came after careful consideration of his political future.
