Mehmet Poroy Visits Kano State to Strengthen Türkiye–Nigeria Bilateral

The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroy, has paid a courtesy visit to the Kano State Government as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Türkiye.

The visit aligns with renewed diplomatic engagements aimed at deepening cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange.

Recent discussions between both countries have emphasized the need to expand economic ties and unlock newdevelopment opportunitiest.

During the visit, the Turkish envoy and his delegation held talks with top government officials at the Kano State Government House, focusing on areas of mutual interest, including investment opportunities and institutional collaboration.

The Ambassador noted that Nigeria remains a strategic partner in Africa, with vast economic potential, adding that Türkiye is committed to increasing trade volume and strengthening partnerships across states in the northern region.

In his remark, the Kano State Governoror Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf ably represented by Chief of Staff Dr.Sulaiman Wali (mni) welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed their commitment to creating a conducive environment for foreign investment and international cooperation.

The visit is also expected to promote people-to-people contact, enhance business relations, and improve visa processes to encourage smoother engagements between Turkey and Kano State.

This courtesy visit marks another step in the growing relationship between Nigeria and Türkiye, as both nations continue to explore opportunities for sustainable development and economic growth.
