KNSG Warns Against Encroachment Of Bridges and Water Board Facilities

The Kano State Government (KNSG) has issued a stern warning regarding the encroachment on bridges and water board facilities, specifically targeting the activities of the Union of Tipper and Quarry Supply Employers of Nigeria (UTSQEN).

Commissioner for the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Alhaji Hamza Safiyanu, stressed the importance of adhering to designated boundaries for sand quarrying along rivers within the state.

During a courtesy visit from the union leadership, Alhaji Hamza urged collaboration with government revenue agencies and encouraged focus on environmental protection. He assured the union representatives of the ministry’s complete support in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Alhaji Isa Jafar Kofar Naisa, the newly elected chairman of UTSQEN, affirmed that the purpose of their visit was to inform the ministry about the new leadership and to foster a productive relationship. He committed the union to strict compliance with environmental protection laws and highlighted their continued support for the monthly sanitation initiatives under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.

Permanent Secretary Engineer Mansur Yakubu and host of Directors were in attendance during the visit.
