The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, together with a delegation of security officials embarked on an assessment visit to Joint Task Force (JTF) teams comprising of the Military, the Police and DSS in Tsanyawa and Shanono LGAs today, 2nd January 2025. The visit follows successful operations conducted by the joint team, repelling and dislodging several bandits in their unsuccessful incursion attempts into the State; an operation that took several hours in the night of 1st January, 2026.
The delegation comprised the Brig. Gen. AM Tukur, Brigade Commander, 3-Brigade Nigerian Army Kano; Air Commodore M Sulaiman, Commander, 455 Base Services Group, Nigerian Air Force Kano; the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, and the Deputy Commandant, Nigerian Navy Logistics College Dawakin Tofa Kano.
In their remarks, the officials commended the JTF officers for their gallantry, dedication and selfless service, emphasizing that Nigeria is the only country we have and that they must collectively work to protect lives and property. “Be on red alert, ensure maximum synergy always, stay focused, and thank you for your dedication and selfless service,” the CP said.
The JTF officers responded positively to the call for selfless service, displaying high morale and professionalism.
The Kano State Police Command appreciates the efforts of all security personnel involved in maintaining peace and security in the State, and also calls on the continuous cooperation of the members of the public for a safer and more peaceful Kano State.
