Court Orders Detention of Former Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq Over Alleged $1.3m Fraud, Issues Arrest Warrant for Ex-Permanent Secretary

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the detention of former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq, over alleged financial misappropriation involving $1.3 million and ₦746.6 million.

The court also directed the arrest of the former Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alkali, after he failed to appear for a court hearing held on Thursday.

The development signals intensified efforts by authorities to clamp down on corruption allegations involving top officials of the previous administration.
