Kano State Assembly Screens Murtala Sule Garo for Deputy Governor Position

The Kano State House of Assembly has conducted the screening of Murtala Sule Garo for appointment as the Deputy Governor of the state, in a significant step toward filling the vacant position.

The screening exercise was carried out by a special 12-member committee constituted by the Assembly and chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Bello. During the session, the committee examined Garo’s qualifications, administrative experience, and his potential contributions to the development of Kano State if confirmed.

The lawmakers also reviewed his track record in public service, including his previous roles in government and his involvement in political and administrative affairs within the state.

Speaking to journalists after the session, Murtala Sule Garo expressed his readiness to work closely with the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to ensure the delivery of good governance and sustainable development across the state.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the administration’s “Kano First” policy, which prioritizes the welfare of the people and focuses on economic growth, education, and social development.

The screening session was attended by prominent political figures, including the Senator representing Kano South, Kawu Sumaila, the member of the House of Representatives representing Tudunwada/Doguwa, Abba Bichi, as well as former leaders of the Kano State House of Assembly, who were present to witness the process.

The Assembly is expected to complete all necessary legislative procedures before confirming Murtala Sule Garo as the Deputy Governor of Kano State.
