The President of the Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has filed a petition with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) against the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Ahmed Farouk, over allegations of corruption.
The petition, dated December 16, 2025, was submitted through Dangote’s lawyer, Ogwu Onoja, SAN, and was received by the Office of the ICPC Chairman, Musa Aliyu, SAN.
Dangote accused Ahmed Farouk of living beyond his legitimate earnings as a public servant, alleging that the NMDPRA boss spent more than five million United States dollars on the school fees of his four children at secondary schools in Switzerland.
According to the petition, the school fees were paid in full over several years, a situation Dangote claimed could not be justified by Farouk’s lawful income throughout his entire career in public service.
The businessman accused Farouk of violating public service rules, alleging that he accumulated wealth through illegal means, abused his office, and misappropriated public funds.
Dangote further alleged that the head of NMDPRA used his position to unlawfully divert and mismanage public funds for his personal benefit and that of a few associates, a situation he said had led to public anger and protests.
He listed the names of the four children involved, the schools they attend in Switzerland, and the amounts allegedly paid, and urged the ICPC to investigate the authenticity of the allegations.
