Gov. Abba Approves Major Health Infrastructure Upgrades under KHETFUND Intervention.

The Executive Secretary Kano State Hospitals Management Board Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda is pleased to announce that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has granted approval for a series of key infrastructural and equipment upgrades across selected health facilities in the state.
The approvals, which form part of the Kano Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) intervention, include Solarization of Dambatta General Hospital and Abubakar Imam Urology Center, Procurement of Medical Equipment for Tudun Wada and Doguwa Hospitals as well as Expansion of the Kwankwaso General Hospital’s Accident and Emergency (A&E) Unit and Construction of VIP Toilets.
These projects are in line with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to transform Kano’s healthcare system through sustainable infrastructure, modern technology, and improved service delivery for the people of the state.
He explained that the solarization of Dambatta and AIUC Hospitals aims to ensure uninterrupted power supply for essential medical operations, including emergency services, laboratories, theatres, and maternity wards. This initiative will enhance efficiency, reduce reliance on the national grid, lower operational costs, and promote environmental sustainability all reflecting the Governor’s forward thinking leadership and commitment to the welfare of Kano citizens.
Similarly, the procurement of medical equipment for Tudun Wada and Doguwa Hospitals will strengthen diagnostic capacity and service efficiency, while the expansion and provision of VIP toilets at the Kwankwaso A&E Unit will create a more comfortable and dignified environment for patients, visitors, and health personnel alike.
Dr. Nagoda reiterated that these approvals were made possible through the KHETFUND initiative under the dynamic leadership of the Executive Secretary, Dr. Fatima Zaharaddeen whose dedication, innovation, and commitment to healthcare advancement continue to drive positive transformation across the state’s hospital network. Dr. Zaharaddeen’s visionary coordination of the KHETFUND program has brought renewed hope, strengthened hospital infrastructure, and restored confidence in public healthcare delivery in Kano State.
The Executive Secretary then expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his continued support and investment in the health sector. He described the Governor’s actions as a clear reflection of compassion, foresight, and a genuine resolve to uplift the health and wellbeing of all residents of Kano State.
He then reaffirms the board’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of these projects in alignment with the Governor’s healthcare reform agenda and the vision of a healthier, more prosperous Kano State.
