The British Broadcasting Corporation has announced plans to reduce its workforce by between 1,800 and 2,000 employees over the next two years, citing increasing financial pressures and rapid changes in the media landscape.
This was disclosed in a statement issued to staff by the corporation’s interim Director-General, Rhodri Talfan Davies, who noted that details of the restructuring are still being finalized.
He explained that the move is part of broader efforts to manage costs and reposition the organization to better adapt to the evolving demands of modern broadcasting.
