KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND SUSTAINS ROBUST SECURITY ENGAGEMENTS, EXPANDS INTELLIGENCE AND COMMUNITY POLICING IN COMBATING VIOLENT CRIMES IN THE STATE

The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, has commenced statewide sensitization and sustained robust operational and strategic engagements aimed at enhancing safety and security across the State.

In line with the clear directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, to dominate the public space against all criminal threats, the Command held high-level meetings and conducted joint operations with other security and law enforcement agencies in the State to strengthen inter-agency synergy and operational coordination. It also carried out a series of community engagements across metropolitan and rural areas with a view to establishing solid and sustainable community policing initiatives. This is to be sustained, going forward. Furthermore, stakeholders’ meetings and consultations were held with traditional rulers, community leaders, and security stakeholders in border Local Government Areas of the State; sensitizing them on early warning signs and safe evacuation steps during emergencies, in efforts to addressing the cross-border security challenges. Meanwhile, intelligence-gathering mechanisms were expanded and proactive surveillance strategies activated across identified hotspots.

The Kano State Police Command deeply appreciates members of the public for their continuous support, cooperation, and timely information-sharing, which remain critical to the successes recorded so far.

The Command urges all residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements, or activities to the nearest Police Station. The public can also reach the Command through the following emergency lines: 08032419754, 08123821575, 09029292926, or via the “NPF Rescue Me” application available on the Google Play Store.
