The Provost of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education Dr. Kabir Ahmad Gwarzo has highlighted far-reaching reforms and notable achievements recorded since he assumed leadership of the institution, underscoring a renewed focus on discipline, academic excellence and infrastructural growth.
Gwarzo stated that his administration has prioritized restoring order and stability within the college, beginning with a comprehensive overhaul of campus security.
He noted that strengthened security arrangements have significantly improved safety, fostering a peaceful atmosphere conducive to effective teaching and learning.
Addressing student welfare and conduct, the Provost revealed that firm measures were introduced to combat drug abuse, describing the initiative as both proactive and corrective.
According to him, the intervention has led to a marked decline in drug-related cases, reinforcing discipline and promoting responsible behavior among students.
In the academic sphere, Gwarzo pointed to substantial progress in the examination system, particularly the elimination of delays in the release of results.
He emphasized that timely result processing has not only enhanced transparency but also improved students’ academic confidence and preparedness for future endeavors.
The Provost further acknowledged the critical role of the Kano State Government in supporting the college’s transformation agenda.
He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for sustained financial backing, which he said has driven key infrastructural projects and improved access to essential teaching and learning facilities.
“These contributions have significantly elevated the standard of education in the college and created a more enabling environment for both staff and students,” he noted.
Reaffirming management’s commitment to sustained progress, Gwarzo assured that staff welfare remains a central priority alongside continuous monitoring of student conduct to preserve discipline and strengthen the institution’s academic integrity.
He reiterated that the college is determined to build on its current momentum, positioning itself as a center of excellence in teacher education in Kano State and beyond.
