CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR: CP BAKORI MEETS OPERATIONAL COMMANDERS, CONCLUDES SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS FOR FESTIVE PERIOD, ASSURES ADEQUATE SECURITY

In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD NPM to all Police Commands and Formations to adequately deploy Police personnel and Operational Assets for a safe, peaceful and crime-free Christmas and New Year Celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, today, 22nd December 2025 meets Operational Commanders including Heads of Departments (HODs), Area/Squadron/Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, and ordered for intensified patrols, visibility policing, intelligence-led operations and confidence-building engagements throughout the festive periods.

2. The Police Command has put in place adequate security arrangements in liaison with other Security Agencies to ensure the security of life and property before, during, and after the celebrations.

3. The Commissioner of Police directed all Operational Commanders to ensure:

– Adequate security at worshipping centers and recreational facilities
– Round-the-clock visibility patrols
– Effective traffic control for smooth flow of traffic throughout the State
– Widening of channels of intelligence gathering ahead of the festive periods

4. The Command has also issued the following security tips:

– Avoid Suspicious Objects: Refrain from carrying unnecessary objects that may trigger suspicion or apprehension when going to worshipping centers.
– Be Vigilant: Report any suspicious person, movement, or item to the nearest Police Station or through the Command’s Emergency Numbers.
– Safe Driving Practices: Underaged children and unlicensed persons are not allowed to operate motor vehicles, tricycles, or motorcycles. Road users should desist from over-speeding, car-racing, reckless, and dangerous driving.
– Horse Riding: All forms of unauthorized horse riding are prohibited.
– Parental Guidance: Parents and Guardians should always accompany their children with adults while going out to checkmate cases of missing children, accidents, or any unsolicited dealings.
– Fireworks Ban: The use of fireworks is completely banned.
– Peaceful Celebrations: Any group or individual is warned to desist from any act or conduct that will likely cause a breach of peace or breakdown of law and order.
